NIRVANA «IN UTERO 20TH ANNIVERSARY»
Special Edition
NIRVANA
«IN UTERO 20TH ANNIVERSARY»
On the past 23rd of September, the album remastered and the original side B's, have extras like never heard demos and the full concert «LIVE AND LOUD», from 13th of December of 1993.
To say that the third and last album, in studio from Nirvana, «In Utero», was the most polarized album of 1993 it's not enough.
His rich and unique sound registered by Steve Albini revealed that the it was aggressive but, in the same time, vulnerable ever recorded by Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl.
After the last album «Nevermind», of 1991, had sold 30 millions of copies and, alone, made a honest "come back" of rock’n’roll to the number Ones of the Tops, «In Utero» was, essentially the first record that Nirvana would ever made for what the real expectation the public had.
Dave Grohl |
Since the opening, with the melody of almost "clumsiness" of the «Serve The Servants» till the bitter sweet end with «All Apologies», «In Utero» was the most amazing sound and tortured band of rock’n’roll of his era, and in the peak of (uneasy) position as the "voice" of a whole new generation - the same time it tried to surpass all the fights and record the album that it needed to record.
Just like David Fricke wrote, in the critics, published in the Rolling Stone, «”In Utero” is among things brilliant, corrosive, raging, melancholic, all in the same time. But, more than anything else, a triumph of the will.».
Kurt Cobain |
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the most collective from the 90's, the Universal Music Group prepared an edition in multi-formats, collecting 70 moments, between remastering re-mixes, never heard and rarities, in which will be available in a Super Deluxe Edition, composited by 3 CDs and 1 DVD, or a simple version CD, with the remastering of the original album.
The exclusive items to the several versions of «In Utero 20th Anniversary» will include some true treasures: demos never heard, B sides, songs from a compilation and moments registered live, during the last tour that Cobain, Novoselic, Grohl, and Pat Smear… including the so long waited presentation of the concert «Live and Loud», in Pier 48, in Seattle, at 13th of December of 1993, in full.
A DVD with «Live and Loud» and several other interpretations never heard was also edited on the 23rd of September.

Things I read...
“On the whole, lying is a cheerful affair. Embellishments are intended to give pleasure. People long to tell you what they imagine you want to hear. They want to amuse you; they want to amuse themselves; they want to show you a good time. This is beyond hospitality. This is art.”

Bon Iver - Come Talk To Me
It's impossible not to sing this one from Peter:
Oh please talk to me
Won't you please talk to me
We can unlock this misery
Come on, come talk to me
I did not come to steal
This all is so unreal
Can't you show me how you feel?
Now come on, come talk to me
Come talk to me
Come talk to me

Curiosity
Searching in the great Web... I found this website:
And what is the Blank?
They have those tapes (or whoever have tapes and would like to donate those tapes).
Some of the interview or simply some conversations "off" (non written because they were private or non published) are being gathered here.
They are starting to make some animations, but you can hear well known people there.
Blank on Blank
So, who here ever questioned, since interviews become recorded in tapes, and nowadays everyone uses either a smartphone or any digital recorder...
So my question was:
What happened to those record tapes? Did they digitalized that? (don't forget...decades of tapes).

One of my favourites are these:
Jupiter Jones - STILL
People may come and go
but memories will last forever
as long as I live,
I will not forget,
How Pink and Red are so fiery...
But Blue and Dark will always be part of them.
Conscience will always be your Best Friend,
a best friend that will always tell you the Truth,
When you make the wrong move she will be the first to make you cry,
When you make the right move she will be the first to give you a thumbs up...
the same thumbs up that you learn a lesson...
From all those lessons, not the ones learned in school,
but the ones learned with work, failure, tears, laughs,
The ones that your EGO wants to run away,
but your SOUL wants them to stay.
Be optimistic for the future,
the Universe will provide you with what you need and deserve...
because its a Two way road... and Karma NEVER forgets.
Like once I heard:
Its better to have loved and lost,
that never loved at all.
I am lucky after all...
And you?

Silbermond - Das Beste
Weil alles was du mir gibst,
Einfach so unenendlich gut tut
Que todo o dinheiro do mundo
Você adormece ao meu lado
Posso ficar a noite toda te olhando
Te ver dormir, te ouvir respirar
Até que acordemos de manhã
Você conseguiu de novo tirar meu fôlego
Quando você se deita a meu lado
Eu mal posso acreditar
Me faz tão bem a maneira com que você me ama
Eu esqueço o resto do mundo
Me faz tão bem a maneira com que você me ama
Eu te digo muito pouco
Que é maravilhoso você existir
O seu sorriso vicia
Como se não fosse dessa Terra
Mesmo se ficar perto de você
Fosse um veneno
Eu ficaria ao seu lado até morrer
A sua partida destruiria mundos
Mas eu não quero pensar nisso
É lindo demais estar com você
Quando nos oferecemos o nosso amor
Me fortaleça
Tire as dúvidas de meus olhos
Conte-me mil mentiras, eu acreditaria em todas
Me faz tão bem a maneira com que você me ama
Eu esqueço o resto do mundo
Me faz tão bem a maneira com que você me ama
Faz eu me sentir infinitamente bem
Me faz tão bem a maneira com que você me ama
Eu esqueço o resto do mundo
Me faz tão bem a maneira com que você me ama
Eu te digo muito pouco

Coldplay- Lost
The "Just because..." is never an answer. And you will always get from my core: the fight.
When it seems Lost, is when I learn, look in the enemies eyes, get up, take the dust off and charge back with knowledge.
... A "Just Because" is for lowIQs.
Coldplay - See You Soon
So you lost your trust,
And you never should have, you never should have,
But don't break your back,
If you ever see this,
Don't answer that.
In a bullet proof vest,
With the windows all closed,
I'll be doing my best,
I'll see you soon,
In a telescope lens,
And when all you want is friends,
I'll see you soon.
So they came for you,
They came snapping at your heels,
They come snapping at you heels,
But don't break your back,
If you ever see this,
Don't answer that.
In a bullet proof vest,
With the windows all closed,
I'll be doing my best,
I'll see you soon,
In a telescope lens,
And when all you want is friends,
I'll see you soon,
I'll see you soon.
And oh you lost your trust,
And oh you lost your trust,
OneRepublic - Good Life
This one will always bring memories of me lost in the world: NY/LDN/DXB
Hope Destiny chose well...
Lana Del Rey - Young and Beautiful
I’ve seen the world, done it all
Had my cake now
Diamonds, brilliant
In Bel Air now
Hot summer nights, mid July
When you and I were forever wild
The crazy days, the city lights
The way you’d play with me like a child
Will you still love me
When I’m no longer young and beautiful?
Will you still love me
When I’ve got nothing but my aching soul?
I know you will, I know you will
I know that you will
Will you still love me when I’m no longer beautiful?
I’ve seen the world
Lit it up as my stage now
Chaneling angels in a new age now
Hot summer days, rock'n roll
The way you play for me at your show
And all the ways I got to know
Your pretty face and electric soul
Will you still love me
When I’m no longer young and beautiful?
Will you still love me
When I’ve got nothing but my aching soul?
I know you will, I know you will
I know that you will
Will you still love me when I’m no longer beautiful?
Passenger - Let Her Go [Official Video]
Well you only need the light when it’s burning low
Only miss the sun when it’s starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you’ve been high when you’re feeling low
Only hate the road when you’re missin’ home
Only know you love her when you’ve let her go
And you let her go
Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you'll make a dream last
'Cuz dreams come slow and they go so fast
You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch all it dies
But you only need the light when it’s burning low
Only miss the sun when it’s starts to snow
Only know you love her when you’ve let her go
Only know you’ve been high when you’re feeling low
Only hate the road when you’re missin’ home
Bryan Adams - Inside Out
The biggest lie you ever told your deepest fear 'bout
Growin' old
The longest night you ever spent the angriest letter you
Never sent
The boy you swore you'd never leave the one you kissed on
New years's eve
The sweetest dream you had last night your darkest hour
Your hardest fight
I wanna know you like I know myself
I'm waitin' for you there ain't no one else
Talk to me baby scream and shout
I want to know you - inside out
I wanna dig down deep - I wanna lose some sleep
I wanna scream and shout - I wanna know you inside out
I wanna take my time - I wanna know your mind
Ya know there ain't no doubt - I wanna know you inside out
The saddest song you ever heard - the most you said with
Just one word
The loneliest prayer you ever prayed - the truest vow you
Ever made
What makes you laught, what makes you cry
What makes you mad, what gets you by
You highest hight, your lowest low - these things I want to
Know
I wanna know you - like I know myself
I'm waitin' for you - there ain't no one else
Talk to me baby - scream and shout
I want to know you - inside out
I wanna dig down deep - I wanna lose some sleep
I wanna scream and shout - I wanna know you inside out
I wanna take my time - I wanna know your mind
Ya know there ain't no doubt - I wanna know oyu inside out
I wanna know your sould - I wanna lose control
C'mon n' let it out - I wanna know you inside out
Ya gotta dig down deep - I wanna lose some slieep
I wanna scream and shout - I wanna know oyu inside out
Tell me everything...
David Fonseca - "Kiss Me, Oh Kiss Me"
So when the fight is over,
And the storm is through,
Now will you pick another?
What will you get into?
So you stand in the corner,
With those boxing gloves on you,
You're old, scared and lonely,
Yeah we've all been there too… uh uh
We've been all there too…
Kiss me, oh kiss me,
If that can make it right.
Try me, find me,
Just throw them on me…
Those failed expectations…
Floods and afflictions you're through.
Cause I just might, take them home with me.
And the cracks in the pavement,
Yeah we've all fell there before,
And bones built into skeleton,
We've all been through that door.
Kiss me, oh kiss me,
If that can make it right.
Try me, find me,
Just throw them on me…
Those failed expectations…
Floods and afflictions you're through.
Cause I just might…
Kiss me, oh kiss me,
Will that make things right ?
Try me, find me,
Just throw them on me…
Those failed expectations…
Floods and afflictions you're through.
Cause I just might…
I just might, take you home.
Kiss me, kiss me,
We've all been there too,
Kiss me, kiss me
We have all been there too,
Kiss me, kiss me
We've all been there too,
Kiss me, kiss me
So kiss me…
Fingertips - DO IT
In downtown
People know my name
But somehow when they call it doesn't sound the same
Stupid words,
No,they cannot brake my heart
'cause I didn't listen from the start
If you wanna say stuff about me
If you wanna say, do it to my face
'cause everytime i see the world go round
I know you will never ever bring me down
Do it to my face, do it to my face now
Funny
How you waste your time
Instead of living your life you prefer talking about mine
Stupid you
If you do not try to start
Touching the magic colors of your heart
If you wanna say stuff about me
If you wanna say, do it to my face
'cause everytime i see the world go round
I know you will never ever bring me down
Do it to my face, do it to my face now
... Love yourself instead of hating me ...
... Love yourself instead ...
If you wanna say stuff about me...
Fingertips - Pictures of my own
Save me
from this sadness it's coming
or take me
before my smile it's dissolving
wake me
from this nightmare i'm entering
don't let me fall in the corners of my own
As a tear comes from inside
I feel like i'm gonna drown
and as i'm searching for something to occupy my mind again
I lay
Down on my bed
But then a picture of my soul shows me
there's no way instead
touch me
make me feel i'm alive
or forget me
maybe i would die with time
love me
all i need is a hug
embrace me
'cause times are going too rough
and as i think i'm lost nowhere
i find where i am all alone
and as i'm desperating slowly just looking
at my night without stars
i pray
that someone could call
but then a picture of my own
tells me i'm made to fall
and it's a picture of my own
a picture of my own
a picture of my own
that's making me feel this way
and i'm so sorry babe
it's all so silent here
up here
here,here..
Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight
I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord
I've been waiting for this moment, all my life, Oh Lord
Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord, Oh Lord
Well, if you told me you were drowning
I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am
Well, I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin, I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies
And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord
I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, Oh Lord
I can feel it in the air tonight, Oh Lord, Oh Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment all my life, Oh Lord, Oh Lord
Well I remember, I remember don't worry
How could I ever forget, it's the first time, the last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep your silence up, no you don't fool me
The hurt doesn't show; but the pain still grows
It's no stranger to you or me
And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord...
Thirty Seconds To Mars - The Kill (Bury Me)
What if I wanted to break?
Laugh it all off in your face
What would you do?
What if I fell to the floor?
Couldn't take all this anymore
What would you do?
Come
Break me down
Bury me, bury me
I am finished with you
What if I wanted to fight?
Beg for the rest of my life
What would you do?
You say you wanted more
What are you waiting for?
I'm not running from you
Come
Break me down
Bury me, bury me
I am finished with you
Look in my eyes
You're killing me, killing me
All I wanted was you
I tried to be someone else
But nothing seemed to change
I know now, this is who I really am inside
Finally found myself
Fighting for a chance
I know now, this is who I really am
Come
Break me down
Bury me, bury me
I am finished with you
Look in my eyes
You're killing me, killing me
All I wanted was you
Come, break me down
Break me down
Break me down
(You say you wanted more)
What if I wanted to break?
(What are you waiting for?
I'm not running from you)
What if I, what if I,
what if I, what if I...
(Bury me, bury me)
Anne Rice, the Interview
Interview
I received an invitation through GoodReads to have a video interview with the Great Writer Anne Rice.
You may know her only as the writer of Interview with the Vampire (the 90's movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt) about vampires and vampire life; but the fact is that Anne has several books written not only about vampires but also about witches and now Werewolves, with her new book:
And because of this book, it was created a good opportunity to talk to Anne via GoodReads.

Some facts about Anne Rice
During the interview |
Question:
In your books, you have supernatural creatures, such as vampires, ghosts, angels, witches and now werewolves; but you always represent them as in humanized instead of the "monster" version.
Why do you humanize them?
Anne:
(smiles) That is a good question! I think maybe I consider myself as a monster. Inside each of us there is an animal or monster. The vampire are seductive and can literally "suck" the blood or energy of others; the witch exists inside each women and can be from the light or the dark, just like your mood; the werewolves are a new thing for me to write, but I think the monster, the transformation can be our aggressive side that we only discover when we are "trapped" like an animal in situations during life.
That's why I think I humanize these "creatures", because in fact, who tells us that who is who, or aren't we all animals? And because i have to enter in the character, sometimes I have to think I am a monster... and I am one.
Question:
If you could have diner tonight in New Orleans, where would it be and with which fictional character would it be?
Anne:
Fictional characters of mine or somebody else's?
Editor:
Either one, pick whatever you like.
Anne:
Well I would have diner at Mr B's on Royal Street, right opposite of the Hotel Monteleone, and I would have a Chicken Gumbo, by the way, with rice and their delicious bread and butter; and I think I would have Lestat with me, Louis, mighty vampires, and maybe Armand.
(Click on the pictures to go there)
Question:
Do you think that Lestat become like an Alter Ego of yours? Since you wrote so much about his story, dug so much about his persona?
Anne:
Yes. Lestat is a male Alter Ego of mine. There is no question about it. And he obsesses me like no other character. I always know where he is in the world. In any minute. If someone comes in the Facebook page and says: "Where is Lestat tonight?", I can tell them... He's in New York or he is Rio de Janeiro or he's in France. I have a relationship with that character that's absolutely unique...
And I would like to add that, when he chooses to speak, he speaks; and when he doesn't chooses to speak to me... he does not speak.
I must say that I really love this opportunity, as a reader, as a writer as a lover of books.
Anne Rice has her own world and when she speaks, you can almost imagine here with one foot in each of the worlds and you can see her passion when she talks about writing or her characters.
It was a good lesson.
Here is the Video interview (the first of my questions was not filmed because I had a problem with the camera):

Gary Moore
Artist
Robert William Gary Moore (4 April 1952 – 6 February 2011), was a Northern Irish musician, most widely recognised as a singer and guitarist.
In a career dating back to the 1960s, Moore played with artists including Phil Lynott and Brian Downey during his teens, leading him to memberships with the Irish bands Skid Row and Thin Lizzy on three separate occasions.
Moore shared the stage with such blues and rock musicians as B.B. King, Albert King, Colosseum II, George Harrison, and Greg Lake, as well as having a successful solo career.
His early musical influences were artists such as Albert King, Elvis Presley, The Shadows and The Beatles. Later, having seen Jimi Hendrix and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in his home town of Belfast, his own style was developing into a blues-rock sound that would be the dominant form of his career in music.
Moore's greatest influence in the early days was guitarist Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac who was a mentor to Moore when performing in Dublin.
Green's continued influence on Moore was later repaid as a tribute to Green on his 1995 album Blues for Greeny, an album consisting entirely of Green compositions.
On this tribute album, Moore played Green's 1959 Les Paul Standard guitar which Green had lent to Moore after leaving Fleetwood Mac.
Moore ultimately purchased the guitar, at Green's request, so that "it would have a good home".
Moore released his first solo album in 1973, Grinding Stone (billed as "the Gary Moore Band").
Moore died of a heart attack at the age of 58, during the early hours of February 6th, 2011.
