Sting - The Last Ship

Artist

Sting
The Last Ship

The new original album of Sting, called «The Last Ship», is going to be produced by Cherrytree/Interscope/A&M Records on the 23rd of September.

the album was inspired in Sting's next lay, with the same name, and with the story focused in the imaginary of a returning home and the self knowing, with his memory of his childhood of the shadows in the shipyard of Swan Hunters, in Wallsend.

The play, in which Sting has been creatively submersed in the last 3 years, will be premiered in 2014, its the result of an intense colaboration with several Tony awards winners: Joe Mantello (director; «Wicked», «Other Desert Cities»), John Logan (screenwriter; «Red», «Skyfall») and Brian Yorkey (screenwriter; «Next To Normal»). «The Last Ship» tells the story of the progressively ending of the shipping industry, in the 1980 decade, in Newcastle – the same activity that, for so long, defined and obscured the city, his development and society.

The album was produced by Rob Mathes (Sting, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Lou Reed, Carly Simon), and mixed by Donal Hodgson.

«The Last Ship» will be available in digital version and in Cd, and will have 2 formats - one version is with 12 songs (also edited in Vinyl) and the other version deluxe with 2 discs, which will include 5 extra songs.
