Lux Lisbon - The Band

Lux Lisbon formed at Nottingham University before moving to London where the now-5-piece craft sweeping, cinematic indie from their tag-team boy-girl vocals, interwoven harmonies, and the influence of Dog is Dead, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen and Bloc Party.

The last 18 months has seen them record several BBC Introducing live sessions (including for for Tom Robinson at BBC 6 Music and Bethan Elfyn at BBC Wales) and pick up support from Billy Bragg, John Kennedy, Stewart Lee, Chris Hawkins at BBC6 Music as well as The Fly and Word Magazines. Live highlights have included slots at Bestival, Y Not, Hyde Park during the Olympics, Camden Crawl, Dot To Dot as well as slots supporting the mighty To Kill and King and Tom Robinson himself.

In 2013, Lux Lisbon released the 4 track ‘Get Some Scars EP’ and the download only single ‘Demons You Show’. All of these tracks are featured in ambitious and varied promo videos, featuring (amongst other things) an 8-bit zombie apocalypse, several dancing Boris Johnsons, and an almighty homage to Wes Anderson.

Get Some Scars EP

Across their 2 Uk tours in 2013, Lux Lisbon have hit the stage with a high-energy show complete with an ambitious visual projection display that their “epic widescreen indie-rock” (The Fly) sound demands.

In 2014 - Lux Lisbon release “Memento Mori” along with 2 other singles and an EP later in the year, will headline the Lexington in London and play Bestival again.

Findings of the day: LUX LISBON

Twitter is always a good place to get in touch with new Bands (or not so new).

But today was the day of the LUX LISBON

Here these guys out!!

They remind me of "Keane" in the beginning.

It's definitely a must in my music list.

Waiting for more details on this band.

The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

For those who love Sci-Fi, Kings and Queens, Magic and battle... this book is for you!

Plot:

The Queen of the Tearling is the debut novel by Erika Johansen.[1] It is set in the 24th century, and is the first novel of a planned fantasy trilogy.
Princess Kelsea Raleigh Glynn, must defeat the powers of the Red Queen, who is out to destroy her. She must journey to the royal castle to claim her throne, and is accompanied only by the loyal Queen’s Guard which is led by the mysterious Lazarus.

The incoming Movie:

A movie based on the book is in early production, with Emma Watson announced as the executive producer and the star, David Heyman as the director, and Warner Bros. as the producer and distributor.

The "Haters":

Everyone loves a movie that comes from a book, but this book have a lot of people that hated the book. For what I read...those same people haven't read the book so...
If we are going to compare other book series and fandoms around the world that almost create a worship towards the plot of the same series books... Like I say, everything in excess is toxic and no good.
To those haters: please read the book before you compare to things that aren't comparable.

I still remember the battle between The Lord of Rings and Harry Potter fans... nothing matching here right?? But on the time the movies came out and the "battle" online was insane...
So before opening the mouth, please, research and for that I say: READ!

P.S - How can someone say this book is a copy from the GoT (Game of Thrones) when this book is settled on the 24th century??

I recommend!

A big Thank You for the publisher that send me this book.

Robin Williams - "What Dreams May Come" (1998)

What Dreams May Come is a 1998 American fantasy drama film, starring Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Annabella Sciorra and Max von Sydow.
The film is based on the 1978 novel of the same name by Richard Matheson, and was directed by Vincent Ward.

While vacationing in Switzerland, American physician Chris Nielsen (Robin Williams) meets artist Annie Collins (Annabella Sciorra).
They are attracted to each other, and bond as if they had known each other for a long time.

They marry and have two children, Ian (Josh Paddock) and Marie (Jessica Brooks Grant). Their idyllic life ends when the children die in a car crash.
Life becomes difficult: Annie suffers a mental breakdown and the couple contemplates divorce, but they manage through their losses.

On the anniversary of the day they decided not to divorce, Chris is killed in another car crash.
Unaware that he is dead, and confused that no one will interact with him, Chris lingers on Earth.
He sees Annie's attempts to cope with his loss and attempts to communicate with her, despite advice from a presence that this will only cause her more pain.
When his attempts cause more sorrow, he decides to move on.

Chris awakens in Heaven, and learns that his immediate surroundings can be controlled by his imagination.
Meanwhile, Annie is unable to cope with the loss of her husband and decides to commit suicide.

Chris, who is initially relieved that her suffering is done, grows angry when he learns that those who commit suicide go to Hell; this is not the result of a judgment made against them, but rather their own tendency to create "nightmare" afterlife worlds based on their pain.
Chris is adamant that he will rescue Annie from Hell.

Chris starts then his journey to get Annie out of Hell.

A story of love, on how since kids we're teached of what our actions has consequences religiously and what our mind thinks about life, love, no time unless if for work, loss and reincarnation.
About how we forget to live life with positive thoughts and happiness.
